- Try to walk your dog (or cat) early in the morning, this way they have their exercise in the cooler part of the day.
- If going to the studio bring along a bowl and a bottle of water (chances are the studio will have a bowl of water, but better to be safe than sorry)
- At home let your pet take a drink between shots when they look like they need it, this might help with a tongue hanging out.
- Have a spray bottle handy and when your pet looks hot give them a couple of soft sprays to help cool them.
- Animals help control temperature through the bottom of their feet, so try dipping them paws in some shallow cool water.
- Most importantly don't overwork them, make sure that the photographer is aware when your pet has had enough ( there won't be any more good pics if they are over it anyway
Stay cool.
